I'm not sure why these are advertised as "chalk markers" or why this website claims they work on chalkboards. The pens themselves do not say they are ok for chalkboards (I should have read the tiny print on the pen before using). The pen says, "Eraseable on Whiteboards, Lightboards and Other Non-porous Surfaces." That's it. They don't come off of chalkboards. They leave "ghost" letters behind and I am super disappointed. I suggest you keep looking for a chalk pen that is actually meant for chalkboards.
I’ve ruined 2 chalkboards using this product. It will not wipe off. I even tried to wash it off with soap & water with no luck! Very poor quality.
Sorry to hear that, certain chalk boards are porous. Try conditioning the board first by taking chalk or a chalk marker and rub it all over the chalkboard. Then wipe it off with a chalkboard eraser or a damp cloth for markers. This will help fill in the pores.
As several of the other reviews state, do NOT buy these products as they do NOT wipe clean. Not only am I out the money on the markers, but I also need to now go out and buy several more chalkboards. Tried to wipe clean as stated on the packaging and it did not work! Also tried soap and water, vinegar and rubbing alcohol and you can still see the white ink outlines and all of the dots from where the writing starts and stops. Chalkboard makers should work on any type of chalkboard without having to be conditioned first. Definitely glad I did not "Try conditioning the board first by taking chalk or a chalk marker and rub it all over the chalkboard" as was one of your replies to a previous unhappy customer as the little bit I wrote was enough to ruin the boards and my projects!

I have a craft shop, wrote all over chalkboards with these... sold said chalkboard and customer had to return the chalkboard because writing wouldn’t come off... tried erasing and washing everything... long story short, they all had to be redone and painted again... never use them again
Worst markers ever!! They go on great. I used them on three light boards at our bar. Well...try to take it off the write new specials and forget that! We will have to get new boards. We’ve literally tried everything!
